    Tuesday

We record one long video at the start of each month, and everything else comes out of that recording. It wasn't always like that. For about a year, we posted every single day. By the end, nobody on the team wanted to open the content calendar. The posts got worse, not better. We were making content to fill a slot, not because we had something to say. And people can tell. So we changed one thing. Now there's one recording, about an hour, and one afternoon of planning. Everything comes out of it: → the short clips → the carousel → the newsletter → the threads We post less now and hear back more. More replies, more people saying they saved something, more follow-up questions. And the team actually likes recording day again. The lesson: posting more often didn't make the posts better. Having something to say did. So each recording starts with five questions our audience actually asked us that month, and we answer those. Where do your topics come from right now: a slot in the calendar, or a question someone asked you?

Different shape for each platform, but it's the same idea underneath. This thread covers how we turn one monthly video into a week of posts: where the topics come from, how we pick the lines, and how we plan the week.

1/ Before we record, we write down five questions our audience actually asked us that month, in comments, emails and DMs. We answer those on camera. No made-up topics.

    3. Acme Studio@acmestudioThursday

2/ Every answer starts with the point in one sentence, then the explanation. That sentence can be lifted straight out as a post. If we can't say it in one sentence, the idea isn't ready, so we park it.

    4. Acme Studio@acmestudioThursday

3/ After recording, we clean the transcript before we write anything. Filler out, headings in. Then we pull out the lines that make sense on their own. Every post is built on one of them.

    5. Acme Studio@acmestudioThursday

4/ Each line then gets the shape its platform needs. The carousel is for saves. The LinkedIn post is for the story. The thread is for the steps.

    Friday

The way you say something on camera is usually better than the way you write it later. We learned that early on. We'd watch our own video, then write the posts from memory. What we'd said on camera was more natural than anything we wrote afterwards. Now we use the transcript. The actual words. We clean it up, pull out the best lines, and every post starts from something we really said.

TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, from one video

Here are the three scripts. Each one comes from a different section of the video. None of them opens with the same line as another script or as any of the five posts.

A note on cutting vs. re-filming: I've tightened some lines, and in one place reordered a sentence. Those lines won't match the recording word for word. If you cut the clip, use the closest take and the on-screen text still holds. If you re-film, read the lines as written.

Title (56 characters) What changed when we started recording one video a month

What the transcript doesn't give me

    • Exact in and out points. The cleaned transcript only has a start time for each section, not for each line. That's why I've given the first and last words of each clip. You'll need to find the exact times in the recording.
    • Context for the Shorts clip. On its own, "the team actually likes it again" doesn't say what "it" is. The title fills that gap. If you'd rather the script explain itself, I can open it with a line from One video a month instead. That would make it a cut across two sections.
    • Visuals beyond you on camera. The transcript has no notes on footage or b-roll, so these scripts assume a talking head with text on screen.
    • Cover text. TikTok and Reels let you set a cover, and nothing in the transcript is written for one. The first on-screen line of each script works as cover text if you want it.
    • Your voice samples. They still haven't come through. The spoken lines are your own words, so they're fine as they are. The captions and the title are written in the video's voice. Paste a few past posts and I'll match them.

About this item

Record one video, then let three short steps in one Claude chat do the rest. The transcript is cleaned first, so every post is built on a line you actually said. YouTube auto-captions work, pasted straight from the video page. Then come five posts, one for each weekday: an Instagram carousel, two LinkedIn posts, a Threads post and an X thread, each in the right shape for its platform. Last come three short video scripts for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, each cut from a different moment of the same video.

About thirty minutes from video to a week of drafts, our estimate from testing, most of it reading and editing them.

What you get

  • A three-slide Instagram carousel
  • Two LinkedIn posts, a story and a short lesson
  • A Threads post
  • A six-post X thread
  • Three short video scripts for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts

Good fit

  • Creators and small teams who record more than they post

Not for

  • Short clips under a minute; there is not enough to work from

Known limitations

  • It does not post anything. You post each one yourself or with your scheduling tool.

Questions

Can I start from a YouTube video?
Yes. Copy its auto-captions: open the video in a browser, click "...more" under the title, then "Show transcript". Step 1 adds the punctuation and marks any word it cannot make out instead of guessing.
Do I need anything besides Claude?
No. All three steps run in one Claude chat. On a phone, use the chat version of step 1 instead of installing the skill. To post on a schedule, use each app's own scheduler or the tool you already use.
Will the posts sound like me?
They quote your own best lines from the video, so they start from your words. Paste two or three past posts in step 2 for a closer match.
Can I add other platforms?
Yes. Step 2 has a line for each platform. Add one for Facebook or Bluesky and it follows the same rules.
